DONATIONS

We spend approximately $85,000 to complete one of our houses. A majority of that money is derived from donations and fund raising events. We do not accept government funds for the construction of homes so your donations are critical to the completion of our mission. All donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

There are two ways to donate - by check and online with a credit card. Checks should be made payable to Habitat for Humanity Chicago South Suburbs (or just HFHCSS) and mailed to: 139 Joe Orr Road - 2nd Floor, Chicago Heights, IL 60411.

For online donations, simply click on the link below and you will be taken to the Habitat for Humanity International donations page. Once there, be sure to enter the full name of our affiliate (Habitat for Humanity Chicago South Suburbs) in the box headed “If you know the name of the affiliate you wish to support, please enter it here:”. There are a total of three pages, including the first page, associated with the online donation process. At each step you have an opportunity to change and/or edit your input.

There are a few things you should know about your online donation:

    1. HFHCSS will receive the ENTIRE amount of your donation – no credit card or administrative fees will be deducted.
    2. The minimum online donation is $5.00.
    3. You will receive a receipt for your donation and have the opportunity to designate the donation in someone’s name (gift card).
    4. This is a high-security site. Your personal credit card information is never at risk. The site uses an advanced encryption technology: Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), the industry standard for safe online transactions.
    5. Here’s how to double-check that your browser has established a secure SSL connection to our site:
In Microsoft Internet Explorer: Microsoft Internet Explorer will display a gold padlock icon in the bar at the bottom of the IE window. The padlock icon confirms that you are connected safely to "secure.habitat.org", using encryption to keep your information safe as it travels between your browser and Habitat for Humanity International's Web site.
In Netscape browsers, versions 4 and higher: The padlock in the lower left corner of your browser window will be closed (locked) instead of open (unlocked). You also can click the "Security" button in your browser's toolbar; a pop-up window will confirm, "This page was encrypted."
In Netscape browsers, version 3: The lower left corner of your browser window will show a solid key with a blue background instead of a broken key with a grey background.

Thank you for your generous donation!
